How to Share Kaydoh Pages via Email (Gmail, Outlook, or Bulk Blasts) and Still Track Analytics

You can share Kaydoh pages through Gmail, Outlook, or bulk email tools. Kaydoh will always track Views (and Leads if you add an eForm).

⚠️ For accurate source attribution, you must include a UTM source. The easiest way is to use Send Video Email from Kaydoh, which automatically attaches the correct utm_source for email.

Step 1 — Choose Your Sharing Method
Option A (Recommended): Send Video Email

This guarantees proper email attribution because Kaydoh auto-appends the correct UTM parameters.

  1. In your Kaydoh Dashboard, find the page.

  2. Click Share ▼.

  3. Select Send Video Email.

  4. Follow the prompts to send.

Result: Your link includes the proper utm_source for email, so analytics attribute traffic to Email reliably.
Option B: Share Manually via Gmail/Outlook/CRM (Add UTM Yourself)

If you prefer to send from your own tool, append UTM parameters to the link before sending:

  1. Click Share ▼ → Copy Shareable Link.

  2. Append UTM parameters to the URL:

    • If your URL has no “?” yet:

      ?utm_source=gmail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=sept-listings
    • If your URL already has “?” parameters, use & instead:

      &utm_source=outlook&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=open-house-09-15
  3. Paste the UTM-tagged link into your email or campaign and send.

Recommended UTM values

  • utm_source: gmail, outlook, mailchimp, constant_contact, follow_up_boss, etc.

  • utm_medium: email

  • utm_campaign: short, human-readable slug (e.g., 134e-market-sept)

Without UTM parameters, Kaydoh will attempt to infer the source, but accuracy varies. Many email clicks can appear as Direct/Unknown. Adding UTM is the only reliable way to attribute email traffic.
What Kaydoh Tracks

Always tracked:

  • Views → Total page loads. Multiple clicks by the same person can count as multiple views.

Tracked if configured:

  • Leads → Add an eForm (e.g., “Unlock this tile”) to capture contact info. Submissions appear in Leads.

Not tracked by Kaydoh:

  • Per-recipient opens/clicks (that lives in your email platform’s reports).

  • Tile-level clicks inside the page.

Where to see it:

  • Dashboard → Views count next to the page.

  • Leads tab → Any submitted eForms.

  • Attribution/Source → Most accurate when UTM parameters are present or when using Send Video Email.

Tips:

  • Counts may take a few minutes to update.

  • Use UTM on every link in email to keep source clean and consistent.

Best Practices
  • Use Send Video Email for the simplest, most accurate email attribution.

  • If you must send from Gmail/Outlook/CRM, always add UTM (utm_source, utm_medium=email, utm_campaign).

  • For large blasts (200+), prefer a marketing tool (Mailchimp/CRM) for deliverability & per-contact reporting.

  • Add an eForm to capture leads, not just views.

  • Track engagement in two places:

    • Kaydoh → Views + Leads.

    • Email platform → Opens/clicks per recipient.

FAQs

Do I need to send from Kaydoh to track analytics?
Views will track either way, but for accurate email attribution, use Send Video Email or add UTM when sending elsewhere.

Can Kaydoh tell me which recipient clicked?
No. Use your email platform’s reporting for per-contact opens/clicks.

Why do some email clicks show as “Direct/Unknown”?
Because emails often lack referrer data. Add UTM parameters or use Send Video Email to avoid this.
